Novo Arts-Arts Consultant
Novo Arts was founded in 1975 by Marlaina Deppe in response to her life long goal of making art accessible to every client. Marlaina’s ambition was inspired by her career as an art curator and exhibiting painter, as well as her education at New York University, School of Visual Arts, Pratt Institute, and Parsons School of Design. In keeping with Marlaina’s original vision. Novo Arts’ mission has been to communicate the value of art for any environment. Throughout the 1970s and 80s, Novo Arts procured fine art for clients looking to build collections of established and emerging artists from traditional art market sources, such as galleries and auction houses. By the late 1980s, Novo Arts recognized a growing interest to acquire fine art by corporate clients whose budgets constraints denied them the possibility of accumulating art collections. In response, Novo Arts introduced the Studio Program - a group of artists collaboratively working under art direction to create artworks. The progressive idea was embraced by the corporate community as it allowed for customized, original art to be obtainable for a fraction of its comparative value on the traditional art market. Since art was customized for each client, it allowed the art to correlate more directly to each client’s values and business goals. In the 1990s, Novo Arts recognized a growing need for corporate clients: redistribution of their existing art. The company viewed this as an excellent opportunity to extend its services into the non-profit community and established the Give Your Art Foundation. The Foundation redistributes clients’art by donating it to shelters, hospices, and other similar institutions, providing a mutually rewarding exchange between corporations and non-profit organizations. As the digital era evolved, Novo Arts undertook another creative expansion in the mid-90s, by creating an extensive digital archive of its original images. The art image bank enables the company to offer its unique imagery for reproduction in various mediums, extending the benefits of the Studio Program. In addition, Novo Arts introduced its Living Walls program, to bring digital and light images into spaces as ephemeral artworks. Throughout its history, Novo Arts’ philosophy of “art for everyone”inspired it to remain flexible and inventive in response to clients’ evolving interests. Whether developing corporate, private, or philanthropic art programs, Novo Arts has a successful history of creating artistic and inspiring environments.
